I honestly don’t know if I’d ever heard the word “liturgy” until 2012. But several cycles & seasons later I’m obsessed with how the church calendar year shapes spiritual formation & I curate/create music under the project name “The Calendar Years”.
I met Lindsey in 2012 when we were both new to NYC & together started writing songs of love, loss & leaving. In 2015 we signed with New Jerusalem Music & co-wrote her debut album due out in 2017.
In 2016 we accidentally started a podcast focusing on questioning & progressive dialogue. I produced, curated, contributed the theme music & even interviewed several guests. We’ve had guests like Rob Bell, Audrey Assad, Pete Rollins, Jacqui Lewis & Rabbi Dan on the show.
Since launching in September 2012 I have had the privilege of serving as Worship Director for Forefront Church, a creative, liturgical, multicultural, & interdenominational faith community in Downtown Brooklyn. I also oversee the Guild program, creating space for artists in church.
Every month songwriters gather in my Brooklyn apartment to encourage & inspire each other. Join us on the Facebook group to be a part of the conversation & community.
